Generation4Change Tees Valley are delighted to be hosting an event with guest speaker Jill Thompson, Deputy Director of Campus Services at Teesside University after working for the British Antarctic Survey for the last 12 years.
Jill will give an insight, including the occasional penguin picture, into the challenges of construction in this extreme location and how your perception of life can change as a result.
Building on a floating ice shelf or in the middle of a fur seal breeding colony; negotiating with the RAF to carry out an air drop of pipe cutting equipment and other challenges you didn’t cover in the classroom!
