Landscape Institute North East Social and Film Night28/11/19

We have a fantastic pre-Christmas Social Event planned this year. Once more at the Tyneside Cinema, we will be hosting a screening of the film Troublemakers. Set in the desolate desert spaces of the American southwest, the film unearths the history of land art during the tumultuous late 1960s and early 1970s. Troublemakers is ultimately a story of renegades and firebrands all willing to risk their future careers on radical change and experimentation-a marked contrast to the hyper-speculative contemporary art world of today. Featuring rare interviews with a veritable who’s who of American Art of the twentieth century.

Non-members and friends more than welcome.

We are also honoured to be joined by Ian Thompson, Reader in Landscape Architecture at Newcastle University, whom we are sure many of you will know. Ian has kindly agreed to give an introduction to the film, setting the Land Art movement within the wider context of Landscape Architecture. Should be a great night and a wonderful opportunity to catch up with friends and colleagues.

The event will be held on Thursday 28th November with a £10.00 entry fee. Food will be served and there is a private bar (drinks extra).
