Join us for an exclusive opportunity to hear more about this RIBA North East Award-winning building from the architects who designed it.
As part of this series of events showcasing 2016’s Award-winners, RIBA North East Small Project of the Year, Crook Hall Visitor Centre, will host a celebratory morning.
Crook Hall visitor centre is a delightful place to begin a visit to the Grade 1-listed building and gardens.
Sitting proud on the perimeter of the gardens, the building forms an edge to the street and simultaneously encloses a new courtyard and introduction to the grounds. The form is reminiscent of Hansel and Gretel’s house, with walls clad in cedar timber boards and shingles to the roof. It is a place of escape to a romantic setting, playfully brought to life by this new addition, which replaces a previous tired shed.
