Practical Considerations for Temporary Works Management27/03/25

Association for Project Safety Spring Webinar Series 2025

Temporary works are ubiquitous however people are generally not aware what temporary works are or that they are high risk if not managed appropriately.  Similarly, many are unaware that the industry has documented good practice around the procedural control of temporary works in BS 5975 which was revised in December 2024.

To support the other webinars that APS have delivered on this subject this presentation will consider what the various CDM duty holders could and should do to ensure that temporary works are appropriately manged on projects to ensure that people are not harmed.

Philip will also look at some cases where there have been temporary works failures to identify what the immediate, underlying and root causes might have been to illustrate good practice around the procedural control of temporary works.

Philip is a very experienced Temporary Works Tutor, having trained over 3,200 delegates from a wide range of backgrounds as both temporary works coordinator and temporary works supervisors.
