Newcastle University Urban Sciences Building
Lunchtime Talk and Tour
Thursday 19th October 2017
12.30pm – 1.30pm
The Urban Sciences building – opening in Autumn 2017 – is a £58 million commitment by Newcastle University to lead international research into digitally enabled urban sustainability. Situated on the Science Central site, the building and its surrounding city area will become a living laboratory underpinning research to make urban centres more sustainable for future generations.
This lunchtime study tour will provide an opportunity for members of the Landscape Institute North East and Royal Town Planning Institute North East Young Planners to find out about the new, full-scale Green Infrastructure and Urban Water Laboratory before touring the facility guided by Drs Ross Stirling and Jennine Jonczyk from the University’s School of Engineering.
The event will start with a talk in The Event Space inside the Urban Sciences Building at Science Central at 12.30pm, to be followed by the tour itself.
The event is free to attend, but bookings should be made through the RTPI website.
