Polyhalite mining is a multi billion pound industry and one of the most exiting industrial developments on Teesside and in N. Yorkshire for many years.
This paper will be presented by Matt Parsons and civil engineer colleagues from Sirius Minerals Plc, who will explain the project and highlight:
- the extent of, international significance, composition, and processing and business potential of the Polyhalite deposit
- the planning difficulties, site(s) access, and environmental impact on the National Park including flora and fauna of the area
- more detail on the proposed conveyor route in east Teesside from the tunnel exit to Teesport, including civil engineering considerations
- A brief recap on the tunnel, (paper presented by ARUP last year)
